For over 25 years - the EMPI / Brosal dual carb kits have proven to be the most reliable and cost effective way to add power to your Beetle style 1600cc dual port based engine. Featuring new and improved Brosal carbs - Empi aluminum manifolds - washable gauze air cleaner assemblies with brilliant chrome tops - updated linkage and hardware to complete your installation.

Empi has raised the bar on the competition for single throat high performance dual carburetor kits. They have taken the great performing 40mm Brosal/Solex and enlarged it to a true high flowing 44mm carburetor. Along the way, Empi has added a 12-volt electric choke to both the 40mm and new 44mm versions so now these new carburetor kits can be fully utilized in cold weather conditions. If your existing dual Solex's feel they could use a little more punch or you like the idea of smooth cold weather starting and operation, then upgrade now to a new version of an Empi Solex/Brosal 40mm or 44mm dual carburetor kit. Fits all Beetle style Type-1 dual port upright 1600cc based engines.The 40mm kit is best for engine sizes of 1600cc to 1835cc while the 44mm kit is good on engines of 1835cc to 2100cc.

Every carburetor we sell has been pre-tested by each manufacture and given 100% perfect condition stamp of approval. When considering the purchase of a new carburetor- please be advised that we cannot return any carburetor for any reason. Before installing a new carburetor- please insure that the fuel lines and gas tank have been thoroughly cleaning and flushed of all dirt- rust and debris. Also - always replace all rubber fuel hoses and filters. It is your responsibility to guarantee the cleanliness of your fuel system. This is the only reason you will ever have a problem with a new carburetor. Sender is not included - we offer 2 different senders for this gauge. The dual pole sender - part number VDO-360-006 has 2 hook-ups - one for the VDO gauge and one for the stock red warning light found inside the speedometer. The other sender - part number VDO-360-001 - a single pole hook-up has one connection for the gauge only - your red warning light will not work with this sender.(VDO GAUGES)

The single Empi HPMX (Weber clone) IDF style carburator kits have been a favorite of off-road Buggy and Baja owners for years. The 40mm kit for smaller engines up to 1776cc and the 44mm kit on larger engine. Fits all 1600cc Beetle style dual port engines. Kits includes 1x Empi HPMX 40mm carb- chrome center section intake manifold ( manifold end castings sold separately )chrome air cleaner- gaskets and hardware.
